During the bidding and construction phases of repair projects, Martin/Martin assists owners and property managers to ensure the repairs are performed in accordance with the project specifications and within industry standards. We help select qualified contractors, facilitate the bids, oversee the construction efforts, and provide third party observations of traffic coatings if needed.

Bid Assistance:

Martin/Martin will prepare a bid form for you to issue to qualified Contractors, attend pre-bid meetings to outline the scope of repairs, respond to the Contractors’ questions, and assist in the review of the bids for conformance with the project requirements.

Construction Observations:

Martin/Martin will make periodic site visits during the construction and issue a field observation reports following each site visit complete with any action items discussed with the Contractor. We also review Contractor submittals, respond to substitution requests, answer Requests for Information (RFI’s), review change orders and pay applications.

Traffic Coating Inspections:

Martin/Martin’s certified Concrete Coatings Inspector (CCI) or a Professional Engineer with extensive experience in traffic coatings visit the jobsite to review the surface preparation and installation procedures. This oversight provides owners with documentation that the coating was installed as specified on the Construction Documents and or the within the product Manufacturer’s specifications.

Pre-installation Services:

  • Attend the preconstruction meeting
  • Review the repair drawings and/or specifications
  • Review the Manufacturer’s Product Data Sheet (PDS) and/or the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
  • Mock up testing

On-Site Inspection points:

  • Materials verification
  • Repairs completed
  • Surface preparation
  • Application methods for each layer
  • Aggregate type verification
