Martin/Martin Wyoming provided delegated steel connection engineering for the temporary exoskeleton and endoskeleton shoring systems supporting the renovation of historic McGraw Hall at Cornell University, in Ithaca New York. Working through our Construction Engineering Services (CES) group, we supported Raulli & Sons Inc., the project’s steel fabricator, by delivering connection designs, detailed drawings, and sealed calculations for the temporary shoring steel erected during critical construction phases.
The overall shoring design and governing forces were developed by Place Engineering of Manlius, New York. Using their supplied loading information, Martin/Martin engineered and detailed bolted and welded connections tailored to the project demands. The completed shoring system enabled safe and efficient renovation work while protecting the existing structure, highlighting our expertise fabricator & erector-focused connection design.
