Alice L. Walton School of Medicine
- Client: Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects
- Owner: Whole Health School of Medicine
Martin/Martin is providing structural engineering to the 154,000 SF Alice Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM). The future medical school will incorporate its founder’s belief of integration of conventional and holistic medicine. The school will be comprised of four levels including classrooms, library, clinical teaching facilities, student lounge, recreation area and theatre. Perhaps most notable about this design is that it envelopes its surrounding greenery to the nearby Crystal Bridges’ forest. The school will have outdoor classrooms, urban farming, and an impressive and two-acre rooftop park that connects to balconies, a café and amphitheater.
