Ent Center for the Arts

University of Colorado | Colorado Springs, Colorado

We provided sructural engineering services for this LEED Gold certified, 85,000 SF visual and performing arts building. The project includes a black box theater with supporting spaces for the academic theater and dance departments, a theater and supporting spaces for TheatreWorks, an intimate 250-seat recital hall, a 750 to 800-seat performance space, a recording studio, and the Gallery of Contemporary Art. The first phase also includes additional learning/rehearsal space, a functional lobby, and “back-of-house” support spaces for community programs. Additionally, Martin/Martin provided structural considerations for the hanging art on the ceiling of the lobby, as well as the foundations for the current outdoor sculpture installations by the late Starr Kempf.
