Grant Street Pier

Vancouver, Washington

Martin/Martin provided structural engineering services for the Pier as part of the Vancouver Waterfront park development. The pier is composed of an A-shaped deck supported by cable stays extending from a tied-back inclined mast, and it extends 100 feet into the Columbia River. Martin/Martin was involved in conceptual and final design. Unique features include tuned mass dampers in the deck, a signature, sculptural mast, and exposed art based on engineering designs of the structure.
Additional experience on the site includes a large water feature designed by Larry Kirkland.
