CSU South Campus Infrastructure

Colorado State University | Fort Collins, Colorado

Martin/Martin has worked side by side with Clark and Enersen to support Colorado State’s University mission in achieving the home to the top veterinary school in the country. Through CSU’s P3 Partnership with Tetrad Real Estate, revolutionary improvements have been made to the South Campus in Fort Collins, CO. The Translational Medicine Institute (TMI) was delivered in 2017 and is a research and innovation hub linking human and animal biologic therapies. Martin/Martin’s civil and structural engineers visioned this facility through master planning then design. Site improvements included a 1,000 LF bioswale introducing natural stormwater conveyance and water quality treatment to the campus, parking for TMI and campus visitors, and peaceful, landscaped areas. A large horse barn was added for on-site, specialized equine care. Phase 2 of south campus improvements began in 2018 and delivered critical infrastructure including roadway, major utilities, fire protection, and chilled water. The Johnson Family Equine Hospital, Bay Facility and CSU Facilities Support Buildings were added as part of Phase 2 and delivered in 2021. These facilities improved on the capabilities for equine and small animal care at the campus. In 2022, Martin/Martin’s civil engineers began working on the next phase of improvements to the South Campus to support an expansion of the primary Veterinary Teaching Hospital. This expansion is a $278 million veterinary health complex to advance the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine curriculum and clinical research activities. Martin/Martin’s engineers have played a critical role in the extensive development on the South Campus, bringing to life site advancements with specialty designs for animal transport and care while seamlessly keeping the campus functions operational.
