Michael Smith Natural Resources Building Addition

Named for the primary donor, the project incorporates 113,000 SF of fire protection upgrades to existing space and 45,000 SF of new construction to meet the college’s growing needs. New programmatic features of the revitalized facilities include a student success center, state-of-the-art teaching labs, meeting space, and the Center for Collaborative Conservation. A 55 foot glulam column extends to the 4th level’s cantilevered roof. Natural daylighting, use of regional building materials, and a living green wall add environmentally-friendly charm and character.
