Martin/Martin provided civil and structural engineering design services for this advanced laboratory and teaching facility at Colorado School of Mines. Located at a prominent position on the Kafadar Commons, this building will be an architectural landmark for the campus. Design of the building included advanced scientific equipment, expressed structural glass fins, and a signature cantilevered wing. The project included demolition of the Meyer Hall Building located at the corner of 16th and Illinois. The project entailed construction of a new, multi-story educational building for the Materials of Applied Sciences Department. Civil engineering services included the design of new water and sanitary sewer service lines, grading and drainage improvements, loading dock design, and other site improvements.
