The Science and User Support Building (SUSB) at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) in Menlo Park, California, serves as a central gateway to the campus and supports SLAC’s “One Lab” collaborative-science initiative. The 63,000-square-foot facility includes the Director’s office, user support services, communications, security, an auditorium, cafeteria, and a conference and visitor center. It features a four-story steel-framed office building and a one-story, 350-seat auditorium with long-span steel trusses and concrete shear walls. Designed with a strong focus on sustainability, the facility meets LEED Gold standards and qualifies as a High Performance Sustainable Building.
