The 200,000 SF History Colorado Center houses a new museum and its education/public programs, the Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation, the State Historical Fund, the Stephen H. Hart Research Library, and other Colorado Historical Society functions. Previously located on the site of the new Ralph Carr Judicial Complex, the scope for the new museum also included a 209,000 SF office building and a 533-car above-grade parking structure.
Distinctive design features include a four-story atrium and signature sloped, tapered, cantilevered roof structure. According to the History Colorado Center project manager, “the entire team associated with this project has met or exceeded expectations."
