This 6 million SF passenger terminal is built on a man-made land bridge between two islands in the Yellow Sea. Incheon’s 46-gate, arc-shaped terminal is South Korea’s largest building, serving up to 100 million passengers annually. Involved in Phase I, Martin/Martin designed the lenticular trusses in the terminal and the cable-stay pagoda roof in the concourses. Repetitive structural design offered significantly reduced construction time and costs and was activated as a visual element whenever functionally possible.
