Structural: Revit Manager

Martin/Martin, Inc. is seeking a Revit Manager to join our firm in the Lakewood, Colorado office. This position will serve as the primary technical expert for Revit for both engineers and technicians within the Structural Department; oversees  Revit Technician Staff, administers Revit licenses and acts as a liaison between the Structural Department and both Autodesk and the Autodesk Reseller to resolve Revit and other Autodesk related issues.

Examples of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responds to and resolves Revit related questions from the full Structural Department including engineering and technician staff and across all office locations.
  • Oversees Revit Technician Staff including:
    • Resolution of technical Revit questions
    • Leads weekly Technician scheduling meetings & monthly Technician team meetings
    • Mentoring and career path counseling of Revit Technicians
    • Improves technical capabilities of technicians by direct mentoring and training
    • Leads Revit Technician recruitment for the Structural Department including review of applicant resumes, administration of Revit Technician interviews and makes hiring recommendations Department Manager
  • Is the primary point of contact within the Structural Department to resolve Autodesk problems with an emphasis on Revit related issues, both internally and externally
    • Acts as liaison to Autodesk and Autodesk reseller to resolve external issues
    • Works closely with Information Technology (IT) department to resolve internal issues
    • Administers Revit licenses for the company including monitoring of required number of licenses, procurement of additional licenses, and assignment of BIM360 licenses
  • Prepares and executes the annual Autodesk deployment to the Structural Department
  • Is responsible for setting up Martin/Martin, Inc. hosted A360 projects
  • Leads development of Revit processes to maximize efficiency over both short and long term:
    • Leads development of Revit families, custom graphics, custom programming, and other items within the Martin/Martin, Inc. Revit environment
    • Evaluates yearly updates to software and modifies template and Martin/Martin, Inc. custom families to work with new versions
    • Aids in improving interoperability between Revit and other software
  • Leads development and maintenance  of Revit graphic standards for the department
  • Administers Revit training for the Structural Department.
    • Develops training program for new production staff at Martin/Martin, Inc. to introduce them to Revit and Martin/Martin work processes and resources
    • Recommends and develops training classes/programs to address weaknesses in our production staff
    • Provides on-going training to staff in response to changes in software and office processes
  • Attends project pre-production meetings with Project Manager to assist in the development of Revit implementation plan
  • Represents Martin/Martin, Inc. at industry user groups and other organizations focused on Revit

Required Qualifications: 

  • Has an expert level working knowledge of Revit
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Graduation from High School or GED equivalent

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Has working knowledge of structural engineering systems and drawing production
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience producing projects in Revit
  • Experience managing at least five (5) people
  • Familiar with other CAD, BIM, and structural engineering software/platforms
  • Has a working knowledge of Revit interoperability with engineering analysis and BIM software
  • Familiar with computer programming
  • Extensive knowledge of computer and plotting hardware, network, and file transfer systems generally in use in the design and construction industry
  • Experience in providing Revit training and effective trainer/teacher
  • Effective organizer capable of tracking many objectives at one time
