Nelson New NCSEA President
LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Martin/Martin, Inc. Principal Ben Nelson was installed as president of the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA) at the organization’s Annual Conference and board meeting in St. Louis on Oct. 5.Nelson has been active with NCSEA national and Colorado chapters for 19 years. For the past year he served as the national organization’s vice president and has been a member of the NCSEA board of directors since 2007.
As an enthusiast of both structural engineering and music, Nelson noted during his acceptance speech that he will combine his passions to lead the collective members of the organization “in a terrific performance year.” Nelson’s NCSEA goals for the coming year include: adding one new chapter; building momentum with Young Member Groups in NSCEA member organizations; launching a revamped NCSEA website to better serve members; and monitoring code change developments.
Nelson has been with Martin/Martin and its predecessor since 1984 and serves on the firm’s board of directors. He is a member of the structural engineering management team and mentors the firm’s Young Engineers Forum.
