Martin/Martin Sponsors Engineers Without Borders

Blog-EWB3In college, I had the incredible privilege of acting as a project manager for Engineers Without Borders (EWB) working with the community of San Antonio Abad, El Salvador on a water distribution and treatment system.  That formative experience instilled a sense of service and led me to serve in the Peace Corps for two years in Kenya.  When I returned from Kenya, I found that one of the most useful outlets for my love of international development was the Denver Professional Chapter of EWB, of which I have served as the Vice President since last August.

Blog-EWB1In keeping with the philosophy of their continued philanthropy, Martin/Martin agreed to become the Title Sponsor of EWB-Denver’s largest fundraiser: the 8th Annual Wine Tasting.  In 2013, the Wine Tasting brought in over 120 engineers, architects, and others interested in international development and brought in proceeds of over $8,000.  Martin/Martin’s sponsorship will directly benefit our work with small communities on water and erosion control projects in Ecuador, well rehabilitation and sanitation in Togo, and improved access to clean water in Madagascar.

Blog-EWB2On April 5th, we will host our Wine Tasting for the chapter’s projects at the Museo de las Americas in Denver’s Santa Fe Art District.  Please join us for a night of fine wine, beautiful art, and a good cause.  Tickets are $45 per person or $80 per couple and can be purchased at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/566013.  For more information about the event and EWB-Denver in general, please see our website at http://www.ewbdenver.org.

EWB-Denver would like to thank Martin/Martin, Inc. for its gracious support in our work!
