Thomas Moe, PE

Principal, Structural Engineering

As Tom’s 30-year career developed with Martin/Martin, he found himself drawn to managing school, library, recreation center, municipal and museum structural design projects because of their importance to the community. School design offers collaboration with the client as well as the opportunity for specialty design of auditoriums, gymnasiums and science labs, where consideration of durability and vibration often come into play. Museum design gives Tom the opportunity to guide clients who might be unfamiliar with the special requirements that such a structure frequently requires.

With his attentive, out-going nature, Tom has built solid professional relationships with owners and architects who have relied on him time and again for sound judgment and detailed technical expertise. Clients realize profitable, economic projects as the result of Tom’s responsiveness and drawings that are not only thorough, but capture the client’s vision of the project.

Tom has been with Martin/Martin since 1981 (KKBNA 1981-1988) and is a principal. Since age 11 he has been a world traveler, which has given him a distinctive perspective on the projects he manages and their outcome. Tom has combined an early focus on architecture and art with his interest in meeting and learning from people throughout the world. He has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, and has helped build a water tank and coordinated school repairs in Kenya.
