Duane Jansen, PE
Principal, Civil Engineering
Duane works extensively with architects and developers to make their visions of land and site development projects a reality. Such projects have ranged in size from less than an acre to more than 2,000 acres. He has been the civil engineering principal-in-charge and/or project manager for a multitude of projects such as healthcare/medical, higher education and criminal justice facilities; commercial, office, multi-family, residential and retail structures; and industrial/warehouse facilities.
Duane is down to earth, a credit to his Iowa roots. With nearly 40 years of experience in civil engineering, he believes that exceptional client service, project management and quality control are vital to project success. He and his project managers take great pride in guiding architects, owners and developers by explaining what will and won’t work from a civil engineering standpoint, and then designing a solution that fits the client’s needs.
As principal-in-charge, Duane has managed numerous land and site development projects that encompass entitlements and design for grading, drainage, water and wastewater systems, site access and layout. He knows how to move a project along by getting the necessary approvals from cities and counties. He also provides due diligence, master planning, civil engineering design and construction services for projects.
Duane has been with Martin/Martin since 1982 (KKBNA 1981-1988). Raised on a farm, he enjoys landscaping in his spare time. Other interests include golf, hiking, biking and mountain activities.
