Ralph Rempel, PE
Principal, Structural Engineering
As a principal designer, Ralph is a passionately creative structural designer who is involved with detailed technical solutions that satisfy project needs. He established his technical expertise and experience through the years by working on highly technical structural commissions including stadiums, arenas, performing arts theaters, high rise office buildings, courthouses, vibration sensitive laboratories, blast-resistant structures, and structures located in regions of high seismicity.
As a member of the American Society of Structural Engineers “Blast Protection of Buildings” Standards Committee, Ralph has contributed to the recently published blast- resistant design standard. His blast experience includes working on more than 30 blast resistant/defensive projects. These projects range from risk assessment planning through the design and construction phases for mitigating progressive structural collapse and the effects of explosions on structures and glass walls.
Ralph is registered in seven states and four Canadian provinces. Notable projects include Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona; Coors Field, Buell Theatre and Arraj Federal Courthouse in Denver, Colorado; and HP Pavilion in San Jose, California; and MTS Centre, in Winnipeg, Alberta, Canada.
Ralph has been with Martin/Martin since 1981 (KKBNA 1981-1988) and is a member of the firm’s Structural Department Management Team. In 2010 Ralph went to Haiti for three weeks after the devastating earthquake in that country as a member of an assessment team to evaluate structural stability of remaining buildings. Outside interests include a former 15-year stint volunteering for the Colorado Urban Search and Rescue Team.
