Principal, Structural Investigations Group
John is a co-manager of Martin/Martin’s Structural Investigations Group. He leads a team of more than a dozen engineers who evaluate, assess and design repairs for structural building problems including foundation movement, structural failures, moisture intrusion and material deterioration.
John has focused his career on structural engineering, project management, failure analysis, condition assessments, and expert witness services. In addition to investigative engineering services, he has provided comprehensive structural design services for new structures as well as remodel and renovation of community, residential and historic buildings.
John is dedicated to quality in the design process. He is known for providing a high level of excellence in every step of the project – from thorough communication to deliverables of the highest quality – at a fair price. This diligence has earned John such marquee projects as the current Colorado Capitol Dome Restoration in Denver.
While John has experience working in virtually every type of construction, his primary focus is concrete repair. He is currently chairman of the American Concrete Institute’s Committee 546, Concrete Repair, is active on several other ACI committees, and is past president of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the International Concrete Repair Institute. His active involvement with technical societies keeps him abreast of the latest advancements and technology. The Martin/Martin investigative group offers cutting-edge expertise for critical repair and restoration projects such as parking structures, bridges, single and multi-family housing and stadiums.
John’s dedication reaches well beyond his work at Martin/Martin. He is also a devoted runner who participates annually in marathons across the United States, including the Boston Marathon.
